WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

Our mind has a conscious state, and an subconscious state. We use our conscious mind to make decision, act, and think. Whereas, our subconscious mind controls our habits and even influences our behaviour.

Hypnotherapy is a completely natural and 100% safe treatment to help people overcome any issue they may be suffering with.

Hypnosis is where the conscious part of your mind becomes relaxed and easily distracted, such as when you daydream, and you enter a trance-like state. This could be when you are doing something that has become second nature such as driving a familiar route on your way to work. 

When we allow our conscious thoughts to relax, our unconscious mind becomes more open and receptive to communication. During hypnosis, you’re able to “snap out” of this state at any time so you always remain in control. 

Hypnosis can be traced back to the ancient Babylonians, Greeks and Egyptians and is named after the Greek word for sleep – Hypnos. In hypnosis, sleep does not mean the same as we understand our bedtime sleep to be. A good way to think of Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation and focus. You are in control, not the hypnotist. 

Research has shown that our unconscious mind makes 90% of our decisions and that behaviours are established at a very young age. The unconscious mind’s primary function is to work to protect us. However, behaviours learned at a young age are not always helpful in dealing with issues that we face as adults.

Although our conscious mind knows how to deal with situations rationally, the unconscious mind which is the driving force, can create a raft of limiting and unhelpful behaviours because of early programming.
